The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio

Great location! The hotel is sitting in a prime but quiet part of the walk. The room was dated to a throwback era with velvet couch and wing back chairs, but comfortable so can’t complain too much. The rest of the hotel grounds were great and the staff was attentive at every turn. Id return if back in San Antonio.

The Westin San Antonio Riverwalk is a pretty good experience. Nothing actually knocked my socks off but with reasonable expectations the Westin Riverwalk is hard to beat. The lobby is great, plenty of room to sit and people watch. The staff is friendly, the valet / drive up area is small but a major plus is there is a parking lot directly across the street for less than half the price of the hotel parking. The views from the lobby are hard to beat, the location is really kinda perfect. It's not far from the hustle and bustle of the busy part of the Riverwalk, yet it's far enough from it that it's not noisy or boisterous. The bar and restaurant are nice, good breakfast, I think the dinner menu could use a little reimagining including the bar snack menu. But still overall nice. I've stayed here about 4 times and it's still a great hotel to stay in....I recommend.

The Westin Riverwalk stands out mainly for its location, which is by far the best thing about the hotel—exceptional, right on the River Walk, and very convenient for exploring downtown San Antonio on foot. The hotel is nice overall and it does the job, but once you start paying attention to the details, it definitely feels dated. Things like the door locks, carpets, and doors show wear over time. In my case, the balcony door lock in my room didn’t work properly, which stood out. The staff is friendly, but there’s a noticeable first impression when you arrive—almost a “can I help you?” moment that feels more like they’re checking whether you’re a guest or not. This may be because a lot of non-guests pass through the property, but it’s something you do notice at first. Overall, the hotel meets expectations, mainly because of its prime location. That said, considering the current options available, I think there are better places to stay in downtown San Antonio if you’re looking for a more modern experience or better attention to detail.

Right off the river walk and close to everything. I love to walk, so this was perfect for me. I rented a truck to go outside the city, but Uber/Lyft could have been sufficient. This hotel had everything I needed and beautiful views. They also had valet service, which I used and am so glad I did.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The double beds do not appear to be queens but full size beds, which is disappointing. The rooms are fine but not necessarily what I expected from a Westin. The building itself is quite nice and has enjoyable architecture.

I stayed here for a convention. The hotel is three blocks from the convention center; as such, very convenient. The lobby and rooms are modern, clean and met expectations. Lobby staff were professional and pleasant. I had a small issue with my room door lock that was addressed promptly. Similar to another reviewer, I noticed that the water dispenser in the lobby was covered up, so I guess they've moved away from free water. Might as well remove it. One elevator is alarmingly noisy. A very good experience for the price. I'd stay here again.

This is a wonderful hotel! When I walked into my room, it reminded me of my mother’s home. (My Mom Is a clean freak and her House always smells wonderful). I had an amazing view of the Riverwalk and strongly recommend asking for a room with a balcony overlooking the Riverwalk This is the fifth time I have stayed at this hotel. Having stayed at other hotels along the Riverwalk, the Westin is top-notch. The staff are all very polite and professional. My check-in was quick and easy, my room was wonderfully cleaned every day, and the restaurant had very good food as well. They only complain I could possibly have: I drink a lot of coffee and wish their in-house Starbucks location had longer hours!

I stayed in a king room with a riverwalk view balcony. I was completely satisfied with my stay here. I got good service, everything was very clean and the location is great. Zero complaints. Do yourself a favor and save money by parking in the parking garage located directly across the street. Also, the coffee shop/market serves Starbucks coffee and drinks. I don’t recall seeing this mentioned on the hotel’s website or otherwise advertised anywhere.
